Our vision is continued well being of the common man through study of plant sciences and to conduct innovative teaching and research outreach on the patterns and processes of life with a focus on plants and their environments.

  • Our mission is to apply conventional as well as non-conventional tools to understand plant process, development of human resource with hands on experience in the frontier areas of Plant Sciences.
  • To establish linkages with National and International Institute for betterment of students of the Department

  • Collection & Propagation of endangered and rare medicinal plants under PCS like Gingo biloba, Chnadan (Red), Kal vriksha, laxmi taru, Anticancer Plant, true bramhi and jal brahmi, vidhara, All spice, rudraksh paln, vajradanti, kala and pila bansa, Kalmegha (Bhui neem), Palash Marjoram, Hadjod, rose merry etc.

Future Plans:

  • Fruitful implementation of NEP-2020
  • To start skill upgradation program (e.g. Herbal Nursery & Kitchen garden, Bio composting, Algal culture, Cacti grafting & Rockery )
  • To enrich departmental library
  • To develop digital Herbarium & E-flora
  • Upgradation of UG and PG labs
  • To apply for CSIR, UGC, DST Major/Minor research projects, DBT-Star College Scheme, and DST Curie
  • To establish collaboration and MoU with various institutions for extension of academic and research work

  • Seminars, Webinars, Workshops, Educational Exhibitions & Educational Excursions under Cross cutting issues (Professional Ethics, Environmental Awareness, Skill Upgradation Programs & Experiential Learning Activities).
