We nurture the environment as an institution with greener vision for the future. Our organizational structure consists of faculty members as well as representatives from non-teaching staff and students. The College has added one more rainwater recharge system in the campus in addition to four already in the campus for better groundwater recharge. By installing solar panels, we are reducing our carbon footprint and playing a part in combating climate change. Plastic was collected for recycling to raise awareness about the detrimental impact of plastic on society and the environment. Compost facility to turn biodegradable waste into compost as well as vermicompost pit. No use of paper & plastic cups and plates in the college campus. Our campus has LED (Light Emitting Diode) which is one of today’s most energy- efficient and environmentally- friendly lighting technologies. Medicinal plants in this college generate an awareness where the students get acquainted with the identity and usages of the medicinal plants. One separate garden is also maintained according to astrological aspect such as navgrah and Twelve stars (Rashi plants). Green and energy audits are regularly done to enhance environmental well-being. E waste management is done in an environmentally friendly manner. Taking a step towards green initiatives, the Department of Botany has launched a scheme for the management of biodegradable waste generated from various places in the college. All the biodegradable waste from the college garden, from the hostel mess and from the canteen is converted into organic manure.
