The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a prestigious program launched by the Government of India in 1969, aimed at promoting community service and social responsibility among students. The NSS has been instrumental in fostering a sense of social responsibility and community engagement among the youth of India. The NSS unit at the college was founded in 1973 under the leadership of Mrs. Vijay Laxmi Bhal, whose vision laid a strong foundation for community engagement. Presently 2 units with 200 are flourishing with dedicated efforts for social responsibility.

1. Community Service Initiatives
NSS volunteers actively participate in impactful activities such as blood donation drives, health awareness campaigns, environmental conservation, disaster relief, and community outreach programs—fostering empathy and civic responsibility.

The unit conducts cleanliness drives, tree plantation campaigns, and cultural events, helping students develop leadership qualities, teamwork, and communication skills.
3. Special Camping Programmes
Through rural camps, volunteers immerse themselves in village life, identify local challenges, and contribute towards sustainable solutions—enhancing their understanding of grassroots realities.
4. Skill Development
NSS provides a platform for developing essential life skills including leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making, contributing to students’ personal and professional growth.
5. Social Awareness Campaigns
Volunteers organize awareness programmes on health, education, environment, and social issues, promoting informed and responsible citizenship.
6. Collaboration and Partnerships
The NSS unit collaborates with NGOs and government agencies, offering students practical exposure and opportunities to work alongside professionals in community development projects.
7. Cultural Exchange and National Integration
Participation in cultural exchange programmes and camps, such as the National Integration Camp (NIC), fosters unity, diversity appreciation, and national integration.
