The foundation stone of the college library, Dr. K.G. Mithal Memorial Library, was laid by Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, on December 23rd, 1951. The Library officially began its operations on 24th February, 1976 after formal inauguration by Dr. M. Chenna Reddy, former Governor of Uttar Pradesh via grant given by UGC. Continuing this legacy, 23rd December is celebrated as Library Founder’s Day whereas 24th February is celebrated as College Library Day.

The library has a collection of more than 1,04,000 reading material which includes Books, Manuscripts, Encyclopaedia, Thesis & Dissertation, Journal, Newspapers, Magazines, etc. The library has an excellent collection of more than 800 digitised rare books to its credit. The library subscribes 13 newspapers, 27 journals, 21 magazines. All the collection has been garnered by way of various grants, donation and exchange. There is a dedicated IKS corner in the library.

Fully automated since 2004, the library uses Alice ILMS software (version 6.0) for efficient management. Its Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) allows users to easily search and retrieve resources. Key modules include the database maintenance module, which supports tasks like record updates, indexing, and printing accession registers, and the circulation module, which handles issuing, returning, and renewing books, tracks membership profiles with photographs, and sends overdue reminders.

• The seating capacity area is 1250 Sq Ft

The library offers a range of services to ensure effective utilization of its resources:

• Book lending and return services for students and faculty- Timings: 9:30 to 4:30.
• Reference services to assist users in locating relevant materials.
• Reading and study facilities in a quiet and conducive environment.
• Guidance and support from library staff in accessing information resources.
• Support for project work, assignments, and research activities.

Since its inception, the library has provided an environment conducive to learning and student growth. It is built on principles of community engagement, information accessibility, professional and personal development, and the promotion of knowledge. The college library is more than just a reading space; it is a learning hub that extends beyond the classroom, encouraging and supporting the academic pursuits and research endeavours of both students and faculty.

The impressive three-story building is equipped with modern amenities to meet contemporary needs.

The library of Raghunath Girls’ Post Graduate College functions as a central knowledge hub that supports the academic, research, and intellectual needs of students and faculty.
